Managing skills key to local development

Acorn will soon be delivering work based higher education level 4 credit modules which can count towards University credits and a Foundation degree.

Acorn’s Learning and Development Division has received approval to deliver the modules until 2015 which will be delivered in bite-size sessions. Acorn is partnering with UHOVI (University Heads of the Valleys Institute) to provide its first module – Leadership in Theory and Practice - in September.

The Leadership in Theory and Practice module is all about connecting with the business community to understand the issues impacting on local leaders and how learning useful skills can have a durable impact within their business.

Ann Nicholas, Corporate Development Manager at Acorn says, “Acorn is delighted to be working in partnership with UHOVI. Building management skills is high on the Agenda for Wales and as a nation we should be optimistic about the future of our leaders.  Initiatives such as this are crucial to developing dialogue with businesses about their needs and ultimately, investing in the future of local communities.”

The Leadership in Theory and Practice module is the first module within a suite of bespoke modules.
